What are Dentures?
Dentures are replacements for missing teeth that can be adjusted on a daily basis by taking them out and put back into your mouth. The feel of a denture is not quiet the same feeling as ones natural teeth, but they are very natural looking and comfortable than any other replacement for the elderly. There are two different types of dentures: Full Denture and Partial Denture. We here at Broadway Family Dental consult and treatment plan your options and then we proceed with what type of denture is best for you.
How do Dentures work?
With the option of having either a Full/partial denture. Full dentures are a flesh colored acrylic base which fits over your gums. The base of the upper denture covers the palate while the lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe. They are custom made which are done at a dental laboratory based on your impressions from your mouth.

Besides Flexible Partial dentures being our best seller, we offer another denture where the framework is metal and the outside of the denture is cosmetic. More stable, never breaks, easy to use, and no metal hooks.
What common feature do all dentures have?
There are different types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to loosen them or let them fall out, it’s time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoy losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
What is the procedure of getting Dentures?
The entire mouth is examined and a determination is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go over or around whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and appearance return and one just carries on as usual. Often implants can used to further stabilize the dentures.
What are Removable Partial Dentures?
A removable partial denture replaces multiple missing teeth in either the upper or lower jaw. This replacement of missing teeth is necessary in order to restore your mouth to its original functioning condition and maintain normal facial contour. If a condition of missing teeth is left untreated, the remaining teeth may drift.
